Wild Type or Normal is as they are found in the wild. They have a characteristic ‘alien head’ pattern, which can vary dramatically.
Most of the base morphs, such as Albino, Pastel or Lesser Platinum were discovered in the wild, but are mutations of the normal genes.
Normal Royal Pythons can vary so much that some can be mistaken for morphs. Granite and Banded are two such types. These occur naturally within the variations of the pattern, and do not always prove genetic.
It is worth keeping hold of some of them though, and by breeding them to other Royals with known genetics, seeing what pops out! These that have interesting patterns are generally known as ‘Dinkers’
We have many Wild Type females, all selected for something we like about them, although Sami loves all royals so isn’t too fussy!
